Little Oaks Childcare
Little Oaks Childcare is located within the Flying Start Centre, located below the Primary Phase at King Henry VIII 3-19 School. We provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and grow.
Our centre offers a unique opportunity for children and families to benefit from a seamless transition from birth through to school age. By bringing together Flying Start services, childcare, nursery and school provision on one site, children can become familiar with their surroundings, build relationships with staff and develop confidence as they progress through each stage of their early years journey.
We offer Flying Start funded childcare for eligible two-year-olds, with sessions available:
- 9:00am – 11:30am
- 12:15pm – 2:45pm
Wraparound Childcare for three-year-olds:
- 11:30am – 3:00pm (including lunchtime)
For children attending the school's nursery provision, Little Oaks also provides wraparound childcare for three-year-olds. Children are collected directly from nursery and cared for within the Flying Start Centre, supporting families with flexible childcare that fits around the nursery day. Families may be eligible for support through the Childcare Offer for Wales, which provides funded childcare and early education for eligible working parents of three and four-year-old children. The offer can provide up to 30 hours of combined early education and childcare each week, helping families with childcare costs and supporting parents to work, train or study. Eligibility criteria apply.
Parents who are not eligible for funded childcare are still able to access Little Oaks through our paid wraparound childcare provision.
The Flying Start Centre offers much more than childcare. We also provide a range of support services for families, including:
- Antenatal groups
- Parenting programmes
- Child development support
- Family support and advice
